This is a new and exciting dedicated Head and Neck Band 7 Highly Specialist Physiotherapy post supporting an increased team role in post discharge Physiotherapy provision for Head and Neck. This post will join the established, experienced and supportive Respiratory Therapy team at Charing Cross hospital.
Our friendly department is full of opportunity for a dynamic, enthusiastic physiotherapist who wishes to progress specialist clinical expertise and leadership skills within the field of cardio-respiratory physiotherapy. This post would be based at the Charing Cross site and would carry a clinical caseload within Head and Neck and General surgical wards as well as Critical Care. This would include a case load of patients within the ENT, Head and Neck, Colorectal and Urology Specialities.
We are looking for an experienced band 6 or current band 7 physiotherapist, with a keen interest in the field of cardio-respiratory physiotherapy. You will have a wide range of clinical experience, good communication skills, interpersonal skills and a passion for delivering excellent patient centred care.
As a highly specialist physiotherapist you will help with the day to day team management and have supervisory, teaching and training responsibilities.
Main duties of the job
To provide high quality physiotherapy management to patients at Imperial College Healthcare NHS Trust within respiratory physiotherapy over the pathway for Ear Nose, and Throat and Head and Neck surgery. Lead the day to day respiratory physiotherapy service and to train rotational physiotherapy staff to the required level of out of hour's respiratory competency
To perform advanced physiotherapeutic assessment of patients with diverse presentations and complex physical and psychological conditions, to develop and deliver individualised treatment programmes.
The post holder will participate in with the respiratory out of hour's service, which forms part of the post's contracted hours in a 5/7 day working service. Those staff joining the out of hour's rota will do so once they have completed the relevant induction and achieved the required competencies. The post holder will contribute towards the development, training and management of staff on the out of hours rotas.
