Job summary

There is 1 post available at Imperial College Healthcare NHS Trust. The fellowship is 60% clinical with exposure to acute and general medicine, as well as gastroenterology. There is significant (40%) time dedicated to developing a quality improvement project and / or service development, as well as support from the Leadership team at the Trust.

The post is fixed term for 12 months. The fellowship is suitable for post-MRCP doctors who are looking to gain experience at Registrar level in medicine and experience in related aspects including management and leadership.

The candidate must hold their MRCP and evidence of successful completion of Core Medical Training (CMT).

Evidence of designing, leading or collaborating and completing at least one cycle of a quality improvement project, with a formative project assessment by a supervisor or equivalent (quality improvement project assessment tool (QIPAT) or equivalent) is desirable. Evidence of presenting a quality improvement project at local, regional or national meetings is also desirable.

Interest and experience of teaching is also desirable.

Main duties of the job

The fellow will divide their time between sites, covering inpatient work both on-call for general medicine and covering the gastroenterology / general medicine ward patients. The rota is negotiable between the fellow and gastroenterology trainees with plenty of flexibility.

The post allows flexibility for developing a project alongside the clinical work.

There may be a requirement to join the on-call rota with appropriate banding supplement, subject to discussion.
