Job summary

The role is for a full-time Emergency Preparedness, Resilience and Response (EPRR) Manager. Dependent on level of experience and expertise a band 7 development role will be considered with the opportunity it to become a band 8a within 12 months once all competencies have been met.

Reporting to the Head of Emergency Preparedness, Resilience and Response (EPRR) you will be part of an established team and be required to work across all aspects of EPRR including business continuity and FFP3 mask fit testing. You will be expected to support in all existing and future EPRR programs and projects to ensure that the Trust is compliant with the Civil Contingency Act 2004, Health and Social Care Act 2012 as applicable to EPRR, NHS England Emergency Preparedness, Resilience and Response Framework, Department of Health EPRR guidance and other NHS requirements relevant to EPRR and mask fit testing.

Any resilience or EPRR qualifications will be an advantage but not essential. The post holder is expected to participate in any relevant training or education as identified by the Head of EPRR.

Working with the Emergency Preparedness, Resilience & Response (EPRR) team in delivering the Trusts emergency preparedness, resilience and response and business continuity agenda

Education/ Qualifications

Essential

  • Educated to masters level or equivalent working experience
  • Diploma in Health Emergency Preparedness, resilience and response (HEPRR) (or evidence of working towards/willingness to study for) or equivalent knowledge or experience.
  • Has Business Continuity Certificate
  • Further training or significant experience in project management, financial management or supporting change management processes

Desirable

  • Masters Degree in EPRR

  • Minimum of five years successful experience in a NHS operational and staff management role or in a similar large scale public organisation and ideally a Category 1 responder.
  • Experience of working with multidisciplinary teams and ability to build and effectively lead a team
  • Experience of drafting briefing papers and correspondence at senior management team level.
  • Experience of dealing with complex and/ or sensitive information and unpredictable situations.

Desirable

  • Experience of developing collaborative working relationships with colleagues in a wide range of external agencies.

Skills/Knowledge/ Abilities

  • Able to lead a project within financial constraints and deliver to deadlines
  • Able to manage conflicting pressures and objectives
  • Excellent communication skills.
