Job summary
An opportunity has arisen for an ophthalmic technician to join our progressive ophthalmology team at Imperial College Healthcare Trust, London.
You will be based within the Ophthalmic Imaging Department, and work as part of a multidisciplinary team of consultant ophthalmologists, ophthalmic nursing and other support staff across multiple sites.
This interesting and challenging role involves performing diagnostic tests on patients presenting with a variety of eye conditions. A knowledge of eye anatomy and pathology, along with experience of specialist ophthalmic imaging equipment, is desirable. Please refer to job description for further information about the role.

Main duties of the job
Ophthalmic Imaging plays a vital part on patients' care. We are looking for an Ophthalmic Technician to support our busy department. You will be producing images for diagnostic purposes for patients as part of their clinical pathway, as well as patients from the Emergency Department (ED). Main responsibilities are to assist the multidisciplinary team to provide an efficient and effective ophthalmic service. A key element is to assist medical teams in providing gold standard patient care. The role involves meeting and interacting with patients in a friendly and professional manner. The post will be based at The Western Eye Hospital as well as Charing Cross Hospital and outreach services managed by the ophthalmic services at Imperial College Healthcare NHS Trust.
