Job summary
Imperial College Healthcare NHS Trust provides an extensive ultrasound service to the people of North West London. We are pleased to offer an exciting and unique opportunity for a healthcare professional to develop their career as a Sonographer.
We are looking for a dynamic, highly motivated individual to take on a fixed term training post with us, based at either Hammersmith or St Mary's hospital.
Applicants should ensure they meet the minimum academic requirements expected of the Kings College clinical ultrasound programme, where you will be completing a postgraduate diploma.
The ultrasound service at Imperial is delivered predominantly by a dedicated, highly skilled and experienced team of sonographers, working closely alongside Consultant radiologists. You will be developing your general ultrasound skills at an exciting time for the imaging workforce. All trainees in ultrasound within NW London are given the opportunity to learn and develop at our Ultrasound academy, which offers state of the art simulation equipment and training lists alongside dedicated practice educators.
This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced radiographer, nurse or allied health professional to progress their career and develop new and highly sought after knowledge and skills in a supportive environment within North West London.
Main duties of the job
- To assist in the provision of an efficient US service.
- To work as part of a professional radiography team providing a high quality diagnostic service.
- To maintain a sensitive and courteous approach to patients.
- To develop and improve professional expertise via continuous professional development.
- To maintain a safe working environment within the US department.
- To complete clinical assessments and theory assessments in General Abdomen and Gynaecology ultrasound in order to achieve the PG Diploma from the University.
- To keep up to date with mandatory trainings.
