We are proud to have pioneered cutting edge surgical techniques using medical technology such as the Da Vinci robotic programme. We are the only dedicated centre in the UK to offer male to female gender reassignment surgery. And we are also the neuro science centre for West London, offering a wide range of surgical procedures.
As a Band 5 staff nurse or operating department practitioner, you'll undertake a rotational programme with supportive placements across a wide range of surgical areas such as main theatres, the Riverside day surgery unit, recovery areas and anaesthetics - and we'll offer you the opportunity to secure a permanent position in the specialty that you love.
The specialties available include ear nose and throat surgery, plastic surgery, breast surgery, ophthalmology, urological procedures (such as Da Vinci robotics, laparoscopic, endoscopic and major open surgery) along with the UK's leading prostate team, general surgery, elective orthopaedic surgery (upper limb, lower limb ankle and foot, and hand surgery, neuro surgery and gender reassignment surgery.

- Carry out planned care for a group of patients without direct supervision
- Ensure the assessment, planning, implementation and evaluation of individualised patient care evidence based
- Assist and advise staff, both registered and unregistered in the delivery of patient care
- Maintain accurate clinical observations of the patient and act accordingly
- Undertake nursing procedures
- Have responsibility for the correct administration and custody of medicines according to Trust policy
- Monitor patients progress, work towards safe and timely discharge plans and ensure barriers to discharge are identified and acted on appropriately

Managerial Responsibilities
- Organise ones own work load ensuring most effective use of time
- Assist in the orientation of new staff and students
- Ensure that nursing practices comply with Trust policies and procedures
- Communicate effectively at all times and maintain a harmonious working environment
- Co-ordinate the care given by nursing assistants and students
- Promote effective liaison between all members of the multi-disciplinary team
