Job summary

The Allergy Service at Imperial College NHS Trust is the longest established Allergy service in the UK. The clinic is a tertiary referral centre, seeing over 4000 patients per year and managing adults with complex multisystem allergic disease. The service consists of food and drug challenges, the UK's oldest allergen immunotherapy service and an established transition service for young adults. The service has expanded rapidly in recent years with increasing food and drug challenge activity and the growing availability of novel diagnostic tests such as component specific IgE testing. The Allergy service is supported by a full multi-disciplinary team of specialist nurses, an allergy dietician, and administrative staff.

Allergy outpatient clinics currently take place in a dedicated "Chest & Allergy" clinic on the St Mary's site, with nurses that provide skin testing and patient educational support. We have a close link with the Lung Function laboratory and the Respiratory Team that are part of Chest and Allergy Department.

We are now seeking to appoint a Locum Allergy consultant into a 10 PA fixed term 12 month post. The successful applicant will join the team in delivering outpatient services.

Main duties of the job

This is an exciting opportunity for a dynamic locum consultant to join our allergy team. This is a 10PA locum full time post for twelve months. The post has been developed to support the allergy service reset and recovery plan, this post includes general allergy clinics per week. The exact timetable can be modified for the right candidate.

This post represents an opportunity to deliver excellent care to patients with suspected allergies in a specialist centre, supported by well-established multi-disciplinary team.
