Job summary
Imperial College Healthcare (ICHT) NHS Trust wishes to recruit a trust grade doctor to Queen Charlotte's and Chelsea Hospital. The duties of this post will be delivered at Queen Charlotte's and Chelsea Hospital. The Rota is fully compliant with the new Junior Doctors Contract.
The post is clinically based and include both Obstetrics and Gynecology. Full participation in the on call Rota at SHO level is required. Obstetric daytime duties will include labour ward, elective operating, ward cover and support and clinical expertise in maternity day assessment units, along with antenatal clinics. Specialist antenatal clinics also run and there will be opportunities to attend these for learning and development. Gynecology services include scanning in the early pregnancy and acute gynecology unit, elective surgery, general gynecology outpatients clinic and specialist clinics including menopause, and ward cover. We have an extensive gynae-oncology service and the successful applicant will be expected to participate in providing care for these complex patients.
On call duties are based on labour ward and the gynae ward, covering Obstetrics and gynecology in the evenings, weekends and nights as the SHO on call.
This is also an excellent opportunity for an individual who has completed their FY2 training programme and is considering a career in O&G, who may wish to gain specific experience in areas of interest at this internationally renowned tertiary unit.
Main duties of the job
SHO duties in both obstetrics and gynecology, covering antenatal, postnatal and gynecology wards, antenatal and gynecology outpatient clinics, the Day Assessment and Triage Units and the Early Pregnancy Unit. Ultrasound training is available and encouraged. Participation in theatre, rotation through the gynecology oncology team and active participation in audit are expected. There is the opportunity to participate in the specialist interest clinics in the department including Obstetric Medicine, Fetal Medicine, Rapid Access Clinic and Outpatient Hysteroscopy Clinics. You will also have an opportunity to attend some of the teaching sessions which take place on a weekly basis and the Departmental monthly post graduate forums.
