Job summary

Are you looking for a new challenge or looking for something new? This is an ideal opportunity for an individual with a genuine interest in Dermatology who wishes to start a career in this specialty, or for an existing Dermatology nurse who wishes to consolidate and develop their skills further in all areas of Dermatology Outpatients. Training would be supported through a competency framework.The department provides a full range of Dermatology services including nurse led services such as Topical treatments and complex wound management, Phototherapy, Patch Testing, Iontophoresis , and Photodynamic Therapy. The service also provides Dermatological surgery including Minor Operations and MOH's surgery, for the management and support of patients on cancer pathways. You will work alongside an experienced multi-professional team in providing holistic nursing care to clients with a wide range of dermatological conditions. We are looking for a nurse who is enthusiastic, motivated and most importantly demonstrates a compassionate attitude and a commitment to delivering high quality care.

Main duties of the job

  • To deliver high quality care to patients within all areas of Dermatology Outpatients, working in line with Trust policies, objectives, protocols and local guidelines, whilst also being aware of the importance of their role in supporting members of the team and always adhering to the Trust values, and in accordance with NMC regulations.
  • Accept delegated responsibility for specific activities/areas from the senior nurse in charge.
  • To be able to work both autonomously, and as part of a multidisciplinary team to deliver high standards of care to patients within the Dermatology Outpatients setting.
  • Communicate in line with Trust values, to patients, carers' and staff at all times.
  • Take every opportunity to continue to develop, practice and expand their own general and specialist nursing skills.

  • Assist members of the team in the co-ordination of the clinical activities.
