This unit provides rapid assessment, diagnosis and treatment of patients with urgent medical conditions. It also enables patients with acute conditions to be closely observed by an expert multi professional team.

Nell Gynne Stroke unit

Nell Gynne provides holistic care for stroke and neuro patients. Patients are often repatriated from Hyper Acute Stroke Units or from other wards within the hospital.

The team provide a dynamic and holistic approach to excellent patient focus care,for endocrine/gastro and elderly care patients it's a really lovely team, very inclusive and welcoming.

Ron Johnson is a highly specialised HIV/ Oncology/ Dermatology ward consisting of 19 en-suite side rooms. We are a tertiary referral unit for HIV and HIV related malignancy.

Main duties of the job

Provide high quality clinical care to patients, in line with the Trust values and in accordance with professional regulations.

Work in line with Trust policies, objectives, protocols and local guidelines, whilst also being aware of the importance of their role in supporting members of the team, and always adhering to the Trust values, and in accordance with NMC regulations.

Work autonomously and with others to always deliver high standards of care to patients and their carers, autonomously and as part of a team.Communicate in line with Trust values, to patients, carers and staff at all times.

Take every opportunity to continue to develop, practice and expand their own general and specialistnursing skills.

Maintain high standards of professional and ethical responsibility, and accountability and be aware ofthe medico-legal aspects of nursing, in line with professional, regulating and local guidance.

Assess, plan, implement and evaluate individualised patient care through appropriate frameworks, including safe effective arrangements for discharge, underpinned by Trust values.

Assist members of the team in the co-ordination of the clinical activities

Use clinical standards to participate in the process of monitoring the quality of care delivered.
