Job summary
To be the expert clinician for the diabetes service providing operational day to day leadership for the diabetes service across the organisation.
To be responsible for the teaching, development and assessment of all staff working in the service
To provide line management to the diabetes and endocrinology specialist nursing team.
To provide development support and to contribute towards PDR processes.
To be a visible leader for the service working collaboratively with the MDT to support and maintain all aspects of service delivery and development.
To ensure the principles of evidence based practice and adherence to current best practice guidelines is adopted across the service.
To drive the research and audit programme for the diabetes service.
To be aware and up to date of changes to local and national rheumatology services and pathways to ensure the Trust is equipped and ready to support the healthcare system in implementing these changes at Trust level.
To provide education, development and training opportunities for the MDT working within diabetes services on both sites.
To develop a workforce strategy for diabetes services.
