Job summary
We are looking for an HCPC registered dietitian with experience of working in critical care to join our team as the ICU Specialist Dietitian for our ICU unit on a permanent basis.The role will be primarily based at West Middlesex Hospital which has up to 12 intensive care beds but the post holder will be expected to provide cover, when needed, at Chelsea & Westminster Hospital which has up to 20 intensive care beds.In addition to responsibilities on ICU, the post holder will be responsible for reviewing and dietetically managing patients requiring parenteral nutrition and included in the parenteral nutrition timetable. The post holder will also lead a gastroenterology clinic, specifically for patients with liver-related conditions.
Main duties of the job
The post holder will work as an integral member of the critical care multidisciplinary teams, providing a highly specialist clinical dietetic service to patients on our intensive care units.The post holder will work both autonomously and within multidisciplinary teams to optimise care and implement highly specialised enteral and parenteral nutrition.The post holder will lead a regular outpatient gastroenterology clinic, specifically for patients with liver-related conditions and be expected to provide cover for general & coeliac clinics in the absence of other members of the dietetic team.The post holder will develop, implement and evaluate policies, guidelines and protocols for the management of patients attending the clinical area in conjunction with the specialist MDT teams.Please find full list of roles and responsibilities in the job description.
