Job summary
We are looking for an HCPC registered dietitian to join our team in the areas of Oncology, HIV & Infectious Diseases.Chelsea and Westminster Hospital NHS Foundation Trust cares for nearly 2000 new cancer patients each year, providing support and care for a number of cancer specialties such as gastrointestinal, gynaecological, lung, skin and blood.Chelsea and Westminster is also a leading centre for HIV-related cancers including lymphoma, Kaposi's Sarcoma and anal cancer. Our services for people living with HIV include a dedicated inpatient ward, 2 day care units, an emergency clinic for HIV-related problems and outpatient clinics.The post will also include cover/insights into ICU, gastroenterology, burns and the opportunity to develop specialist skills in managing patients on parenteral nutrition.
Main duties of the job
The post holder will have a designated inpatient and outpatient caseload and will work as an integral member of the multidisciplinary teams, providing a specialist clinical dietetic service to patients under the oncology and HIV services.The specialist dietitian will be integral to promoting a high quality service to individuals under their care and ensure that the services provided promote respect, dignity and equality for all people.Working across the clinical support division, the post holder will be responsible for providing professional development to the dietitians and support worker teams across the clinical areas.The post holder will develop, implement and evaluate policies, guidelines and protocols for the management of patients attending the clinical area in conjunction with the specialist MDT teams.The post will be based at the Chelsea & Westminster Site, though there may be occasions where you will be asked to cover the West Middlesex site for cover or meetings etc.
