As an ENT Senior Clinical Fellow doctor you will be expected to participate in most of the day-to-day activities of the department in co-operation with the rest of the ENT staffing. It will be expected that you will conduct daily ward rounds, care for in-patients, participate in the on-call rota, attend A&E and ENT emergency clinics, attend routine and emergency ENT operating lists and carry out administration related to these activities.
You will take part in the on-call rota at Middle Grade level. The successful candidate is expected to participate in all the other on-going activities of the department including audit, research projects and to attend various departmental meetings and teaching sessions (MDTs, Audit meetings, M&M, ward and formal teaching)
This job is a part time 0.5WTE role working flexibly across the week.
Main duties of the job
All Medical and Dental Staff employed by the Trust are expected to comply with hospital Health and Safety Policies, Clinical Governance and other Risk Management Policies.
The successful candidate will be responsible to and work under the supervision of the ENT Consultants and work alongside our Middle Grade Doctors.
It will be expected that the appointed candidate will
1. Conduct outpatient clinics
2. Ward rounds
3. Participate in the on-call rota
4. Operating emergency surgical lists and attend A&E and surgical emergency clinics carrying out administration related to these activities.
5. Support in elective operating lists
The successful candidate is expected to participate in all the other on-going activities of the department including audit, research projects and to attend various departmental meetings and teaching sessions (MDTs, Audit meetings, M&M, ward and formal teaching).
The successful candidate will be joining the ENT department compromising of 5 Consultants, 4 Fellow Doctors, and 1 FY2 Doctor. The post is offered on the basis that the successful applicant will work flexibly.

- MBBS or equivalent medical qualification
- Eligible for registration with the GMC and license to practice Evidence of achievement of Foundation competencies in line with GMC standards
- Ability to take full and independent responsibility for the care of patients.
- Ability to take full and independent responsibility for the management of acute medical emergencies.
Desirable
- Evidence of relevant academic & research achievements oEvidence of active participation in audit oEvidence to contributing to teaching & learning of others
