Job summary
The Chelsea and Westminster require a Consultant Dermatologist (Adult and Paediatric) . The post holder will work with the existing consultants to expand service provision for secondary care dermatology referrals. The post holder will maintain an active clinical role as a member of the dermatology consultant body delivering excellent dermatology care for the region.
The post will involve running clinics or minor surgical lists at both Chelsea and Westminster and West Middlesex Hospital
Main duties of the job
We are seeking a Consultant Dermatologist (Adult and Paediatric) to join the Chelsea and Westminster Hospital NHS Foundation Trust on a fixed term basis. The service is based at both Chelsea and Westminster Hospital and West Middlesex University Hospital and the successful candidate would be expected to work at the Chelsea site. We require a Consultant who has an interest in general dermatology including skin cancer and Teledermatology.
The department provides a full clinical dermatology service for nearly one million people locally, regionally and nationally providing general as well as highly specialist MDT services. The service has also developed an award winning and innovative Teledermatology service which it continues to grow and develop.
The post holder will work closely with the existing consultant team to provide a wide range of dermatology services in partnership with primary care colleagues. The successful candidate will share the day-to-day management of the department with the existing clinicians
The successful candidate will possess a recognised Medical degree, MRCP or FRCP and be on the specialist register of the GMC.

As a leading London teaching hospital, the department sees a wide spectrum of acute and chronic dermatological conditions and runs an acute dermatology service. A number of specialist clinics are held on-site, eg skin cancer, paediatric, vulval, penile, HIV, and biologic therapy.
The position outpatient care and supervision of patients in our Day Care unit.
Supervision of trainees and teaching medical students is provided by the consultant body and will be job planned accordingly. The department is actively involved in dermatology research and the post holder will be expected to develop a research interest and actively participate in research projects. The department has a reputation as a successful site for NIHR research studies with one of our colleagues being the regional lead for dermatology. The post holder will be encouraged to apply for Senior Lecturer status within Imperial College.
The successful candidate will possess a recognised Medical degree, MRCP or FRCP and be on the specialist register of the GMC. It is a condition of appointment that staff are satisfactorily health cleared prior to commencing work.
