Job summary
This is a full time substantive consultant appointment for a general radiologist, all subspecialty interests are welcome in particularly musculoskeletal, GU, gynae, cardiothoracic and breast.
The post will be based at the West Middlesex site.
The 10 PA contract comprises 8 DCC sessions and up to 2 SPA sessions. There is also opportunity to take on further tariffed SPA roles within the department.
The successful candidate will have access to secretarial/administrator support from the Imaging department administrative/PA team. They will also have access to dedicated working office space within the radiology department where they will be able to base themselves and be part of the wider radiology team.

Main duties of the job
The job plan will be based on a 4 day week, includes sessions dedicated to general cross sectional reporting so it would be essential for the prospective candidate to be able to report body CT and MRI. It would be desirable if the candidate can perform MSK ultrasound, US-guided injections, FNA, and core biopsies. The successful candidate will also be expected to partake in local MDT's.
The new appointee will participate in the diagnostic on call rota covering the West Middlesex Hospital site. On call frequency will be approximately 1:14 . The on call hours are 5- 9 pm on weekdays and 11am-5pm on weekends and bank holidays.
The proposed job plan will be subject to change to allow for any future extended 7-day service requirement and provision of services across the entire Trust.
The applicant should be on the Specialist register of the GMC, within 6 months of CCT, and be a Fellow of the Royal College of Radiologists or equivalent.
