Job summary

The Chelsea and Westminster Hospital Foundation Trust wishes to appoint a permanent Consultant in Paediatric Trauma and Orthopaedic Surgery with a special interest in Neurodisability. The appointment will be 10 PA's. The post will be predominantly located at the Chelsea and Westminster Hospital site.

The paediatric orthopaedic department consists of a team of committed individuals who provide secondary and tertiary services for children with a wide range of orthopaedic problems. Multidisciplinary team working underpins the services that we provide and has been the foundation that has enabled us to develop and provide excellent care for children and young people with a wide variety and complexity of orthopaedic conditions. More complex patients require liaison with other teams within the division in addition to adult surgical specialties.

The Advisory Appointments Committee (AAC) will take place on 29th August 2024

Main duties of the job

The postholder will be expected to take a lead on running and organising the neuro orthopaedic service alongside the specialist physiotherapists. They will therefore be required to have a special interest in treating patients with neurodisability.

The postholder would be expected to participate in the current busy paediatric orthopaedic and emergency work of the department and participate in providing clinical and educational support to the extended scope physiotherapy practitioners. Multidisciplinary team working is fundamental to our provision of high quality paediatric orthopaedic care with an increasing tertiary workload.
