Job summary

The senior clinical fellow post in Acute Medicine has been created to support the department in the delivery of both the inpatient and ambulatory patient care pathways. The rolling rota incorporates Acute Assessment Unit (AAU), Ambulatory Emergency Care (AEC) and shared shifts on the General Internal Medical Rota (GIM).

Main duties of the job

The Senior Clinical Fellow will be an integral member of the acute medical team, supporting senior decision making across the clinical areas, ensuring early, effective decision making and care implementation. Providing effective clinical leadership to junior members of the medical team and other healthcare professionals to ensure patients are consistently managed along the emergency care pathway to maintain the highest standards of care.

This post will provide broad experience in acute medical care in both an inpatient and ambulatory setting. The role offers both educational and training opportunities and identical rotas to members of the team in the Royal College of Physicians' approved training posts. This includes the same study leave and budget allowances.
