Job summary
We are looking to recruit a motivated and enthusiastic individual to work in a 5 month post in John Hunter Clinic for Sexual Health.
The post also includes on calls as part of the HIV Inpatients/HIV Day-care team
This post will be based in John Hunter Clinic (+ on calls) for 5 months.
We are looking for someone who is motivated, enthusiastic and possesses excellent interpersonal and communication skills along with the ability to work with a complex range of clients in an innovative sexual health setting.
Working flexibly the post holder will ensure that they provide a gold standard, patient focused service at all times.
We have a full in-house Audit and Education programme which the successful applicant is expected to take a keen interest in.

Main duties of the job
GUM - The doctor will then work for six months in GUM OPD at John Hunter Clinic, St Stephens Centre, Chelsea and Westminster Hospital under supervision of seniors investigating, diagnosing and treating STI and other conditions associated with sexual problems as well as appropriate onward patient referrals and discharge summaries.
The Doctor will also be responsible for checking and acting on laboratory and radiology results and discussion of these results with senior medical staff as appropriate.
The post holder will be encouraged to do audit, research, attend teaching and teach.

The post holder will work a 40 hour week in JHC and participate in an on call rota at a frequency of 1 in 5 with internal cover. The main inpatient ward is Ron Johnson; a bespoke ward with single rooms and up to date,
You will be expected to work with professional colleagues and local managers in the efficient running of services and with other practitioners in the medical contribution to management.
The Directorate of HIV/GUM and Dermatology works closely with a number of other departments including general medicine specialities (e.g. dermatology, neurology), cancer services, liaison psychiatry, substance misuse, gynaecology, children's services, maternity services, urology and ophthalmology. There is also liaison and joint research with the pathology departments.
