Job summary
The appointment is for a full time Locum Consultant in General Medicine. The post is a Fixed Term Contract position at Chelsea and Westminster Hospital NHS Foundation Trust on the Chelsea site.

If a person is appointed as a part-time or job share position modification of the job content will be discussed on a personal basis with the trust in consultation with consultant colleagues. The post holder will work with the existing Consultants to develop services in General Medicine.
The post holder will be responsible for a general medicine bed base involving 2 ward rounds and 3 board rounds a week. The post may support our acute or non-acute outpatient services.
Main duties of the job
An exciting opportunity has arisen for a candidate to join our General Medicine team. The consultant will be well supported by a robust management structure, including a consultant Service Director and a multi-disciplinary team including therapists and specialist nurses.

- Work collaboratively with acute colleagues to maximise the clinical care and outcomes of patients who may have frailty, facilitating their safe discharge.
- Work in collaboration with community teams.
- Participation in the General Internal Medicine on call rota.
- The departments within the Trust aim to develop cross site working and partnerships in order to provide the best quality care to our patients. The post holder will be expected to actively participate in these developments with appointed candidates occasionally expected to work flexibly across either of our sites.
