Job summary
We have an exciting Junior Clinical Fellow (Foundation years level) opportunity for candidates who wish to obtain training and broaden their experience in a central London teaching hospital. There are 2 x rotational posts available covering an FY1 training post and a FY2 training post.
One post will include rotations: Respiratory Medicine (4 months), Emergency Medicine (4 months) and Geriatric Medicine (4 months)
The second post will include rotations: Acute Medicine (4 months), Geriatric Medicine (4 months) and Intensive Care Medicine (4 months)
You will participate in an oncall rota which will give you experience in general and acute medicine.
We also offer a generous amount of time for trainees to develop a special skill or interest, and all of our trainees are encouraged to participate in departmental and Trust initiatives as well as Quality Improvement projects.

Main duties of the job
The main parts of the post involve the care of inpatients under the relevant medical specialty and performing the regular functions of a ward based clinical fellow. The JCF will participate in a rota which will give you experience on the wards including the care of general medical patients. You will be part of a Consultant led team of junior doctors and help and participate in ward rounds and board rounds. There will be consultant led ward rounds of new patients, with SpR led ward rounds of existing patients.
The JCF will liaise with the consultant, registrars, other junior doctors, and nurses and therapists to allocate the day's activity appropriately.
The JCF will be expected to assess and manage patients with the support of the consultant and registrar and using appropriate clinical guidelines.
There are multiple multi-disciplinary meetings between doctors, nursing staff, and specialist teams for the care of patients.
