Chelsea and Westminster NHS Foundation Trust would like to invite applications for a substantive Consultant Neurologist 10 PA post.
We are looking for a dynamic and enthusiastic colleague to join our team. This is an exciting new joint post agreed between West Middlesex University Hospital and the Regional Neurosciences Centre at Charing Cross Hospital (Imperial College NHS Trust). You will be joining a vibrant and expanding neurology department in West London.
The post is a 10 PA post with 8 PAs at West Middlesex University Hospital and 2 PAs the Regional Neurosciences Centre at Charing Cross Hospital (Imperial College NHS Trust). The regional on call rota is 1:20.
You will provide general neurology and epilepsy clinics at West Middlesex University Hospital and have a weekly epilepsy clinic at the Regional Neurosciences Centre. We invite applications from candidates with the appropriate training and experience.

Main duties of the job
The appointee will provide inpatient and outpatient services in busy, but well supported hospitals.
The appointment will be 10PAs and will include 2 PAs at the Regional Neurosciences Unit at Charing Cross Hospital. There will be 2 general clinics and 1 Epilepsy/First Seizure clinic at West Middlesex University Hospital and an Epilepsy/First Seizure clinic at Charing Cross Hospital. The appointee will participate in the Regional neurology on call rota unless they wish to participate in the Regional HASU stroke rota instead.

A degree of flexibility on cross cover will be expected to cover for inpatient work such as ward rounds and deal with any unexpected clinical matters that arise relating to colleague(s) leave. Cover is programmed in the job plan but may require early start/later finishes elsewhere in the week. Similarly there will be consideration of time off in lieu.
It is expected that the post holder will engage in specific management tasks and contribute to monthly departmental meetings and hospital committees in agreement with the Service Director and the Directorate management.
The on call commitment is via the Regional General Neurology rota based at Charing Cross Hospital which is currently approx. 1 in 20 weeks non resident on call and paid at the appropriate intensity supplement and includes post take/ referral ward rounds. Consideration will be given to time in lieu.
