Job summary

To manage and monitor waiting lists to ensure that procedures are carried outwithin specified Government targets and locally agreed clinical protocols.To provide and maintain an efficient and effective administrative service,undertaking a range of administrative duties in line with local policies andprocedures.Assist in the smooth running of the ward reception ensuring patients are dealtwith in an efficient manner, whilst adhering to Trust policies at all times.

Main duties of the job

Waiting List Management Dutieso To coordinate and monitor waiting lists.Coordination and production of accurate waiting time information on a weeklybasis and ensuring that there are no outliers to the targets. The post holderwill experience a daily requirement to produce accurate work at speed.General/ Administrative Dutieso To provide and maintain an efficient and effective administrative service.Routine duties include; answering telephone enquiries, updatingcomputer databases, filing, case note requests and preparation.Dealing effectively with mail, redirecting where necessary.o Prioritise and organise own workload daily.o Suggest changes in practice to local systems and processes to ensurethat the service is as efficient and effective as possible.o Undertake reception duties, greeting and registering patients andanswering the telephone. Deal efficiently with all hospital staff andvisitors.o Maintain professional standards in appearance, behaviour and punctuality.o Assist in training and supervision of new members of staff, whilst carryingout one's own duties.
