An exciting opportunity has arisen for a dynamic and enthusiastic band 7 Highly Specialist Respiratory Physiologist to join our expanding Respiratory Laboratory.
This exciting role will provide the successful candidate with a wonderful opportunity to develop skills and to perform a lead role performing cardio-pulmonary exercise testing within the respiratory laboratory.
Primarily based at the Respiratory Laboratory, Aintree University Hospital you will play an active role in this busy department. Leading the CPET service but also providing advanced PFT testing including challenge testing.
The successful candidate will be required to work closely with the medical team, our admin team, other clinical physiologists in the department and members of the multi-disciplinary team.
It is essential that you are self-motivated and have good communication skills. You should have clinical experience, preferably within the NHS.
Main duties of the job
- To perform and to take the lead in cardio-pulmonary exercise testing within the respiratory laboratory.
- To liase with surgical teams, lung cancer teams and diagnostic pathway co-ordinators to provide a safe and efficient service.
- To develop the service, as well as providing risk stratification and risk management strategies.
- To provide other advanced diagnostic testing for the respiratory lab as and when required.
