You will be based at either Aintree University Hospital or The Royal Liverpool Hospital with rotations to either Broadgreen Hospital, The Walton Centre or The Liverpool Womens.

The pharmacy service has a well-developed clinical directorate structure with an established mentoring system for junior staff. We're at the forefront of technological developments, as well as clinical pharmacy, with electronic prescribing and administration deployed across the hospital. This post consists of rotations across a wide variety of clinical areas including acute medicine, respiratory, cardiology, diabetes, general surgery, vascular, TPN, medicines information, care of the elderly, neurology and gastroenterology.

Main duties of the job

Deliver proactive clinical pharmacy services to patients across the Trust. Work will be based mainly on the clinical wards working with the multidisciplinary team to review medication to ensure it's safe and effective.

Some of the time will be spent in the dispensary clinically checking prescriptions.

There will be some weekend commitments on a rota basis and also to provide an on call service as part of the team.

To do this role you need to be enthusiastic, motivated, have good communication skills and be committed to improving patient care and enjoy working as part of a team.
