Job summary
We are seeking a dynamic physiotherapist to join the Medicine Inpatient team at Aintree Hospital.
Working alongside existing senior physiotherapists, you will work in a senior role, providing expert physiotherapy assessment and treatment for patients on the medical wards. As well as supporting to lead the medicine therapy team that consists of Physiotherapists, Occupational Therapists, Assistant Practitioners and Therapy Assistants.
The physiotherapists work as part of the wider Therapies service. There is a requirement to participate in extended hours, on-call and weekend working duties
You will work as the lead Physiotherapist across the inpatient respiratory department, employing skills in assessment, airway clearance and rehabilitation for respiratory patients.
Main duties of the job
- Undertake assessment of patients including those with diverse or complex presentations using advanced clinical reasoning skills.
- Effectively communicate with patients, carers, and other health care professionals.
- Manage the caseload and prioritise patients as appropriate.
- Work closely with other members of the team in the multi-disciplinary service.
- Effectively supervise band 6 staff and below.
- Collaboratively lead the Medicine therapy team with support from peers and Therapy Lead.
- Help drive the quality of the service and maintain standards
- Help drive clinical improvement
