Job summary
The radiology department at Aintree University Hospital, NHS University hospitals of Liverpool group is seeking to appoint an enthusiastic and suitable post FRCR and post CCT candidate to take up this head & neck imaging fellowship.
The H&N imaging fellow would be exposed to all aspects of H&N imaging including MR, CT, US, FNA, Core biopsy as well as relevant fluoroscopic imaging. The Aintree university hospital is a regional head and neck referral centre for Mersey and part of Cheshire. The fellow will be working with the team of head & neck radiologists alongside head & neck cancer centre and will be exposed to large volume of head & neck cancer and non cancer cross-sectional imaging. The fellow will be expected to participate in the large specialist H&N cancer MDT including skull base and thyroid. There will also be an opportunity to participate in research and quality improvement project relevant to H&N imaging. No on-call requirement for this position
This post has a strong focus on education, high end head & neck radiology experience and research. Protected time will be provided for research.
Main duties of the job
To provide supervised first-class clinical service in H&N Cross Sectional imaging.
To provide specialist Radiological opinion and reports in H&N imaging.
To provide H&N Ultrasound and US guided FNA and Biopsy (under supervision)
To supervise junior medical staff in Diagnostic Radiology.
To provide radiological expertise in terms of advice for imaging and reporting.
To take part in the Radiology Audit, Governance, REAL and other Departmental Meetings.
To prepare for and lead on discussions in Specialist H&N MDTMs.
In addition to H&N fellow will also have opportunity to participate in acute IP and trauma reporting, which will help maintain their acute and general reporting skills.

- MB ChB (or equivalent)

- Full registration with the GMC and licence to practise (or eligible for)

Clinical experience
