Job summary

We are looking to recruit a Band 5 IR nurses on a full time basis within Interventional Radiology. The department is open Monday- Friday and also provides a 24/7 On Call service. The role would be based at the Interventional Radiology Dept at the Aintree Hospital Site. We are looking for an innovative, motivated and enthusiastic professional to join our ever growing team of Interventional Radiology Nurses. We are seeking a proactive team player who can join our diverse and dedicated department of radiologists, nurses and radiographers.

Main duties of the job

This is an exciting opportunity for a band 5 nurse, as you will be exposed to a variety of different experiences within the department. We are proud to run a 24 hour, 7 day a week service on an on call basis. This means that after a period of preceptorship, you will be required to participate in the on call emergency service with our Radiologists and Radiographers. The successful candidate will be fully supported by our friendly and supportive team. The team cover a variety of areas of radiology within this role, not only covering the interventional dept but also CT and Ultrasound, but to also support any areas of radiology that need nursing support. This work includes scrubbing for a variety of procedures, monitoring patients and undertaking pre and post procedure care.

Please note all employees have to wear PPE under IR(ME)R 2017 regulations this means wearing a lead aprons, depending on the case this maybe for a prolonged period.
