We have an exciting opportunity for an Assistant Psychologist to join our Clinical Health Psychology Team at Aintree University Hospital, Liverpool. This is a full time post of 37.5 hours per week on a fixed-term contract for 12 months.

Main duties of the job

You will join other psychological staff who are all based in the team and you will be supervised by a Clinical Psychologist. You will contribute to the psychological care of patients of Aintree hospital with long term conditions, particularly those with type 1 diabetes and people who have experienced an amputation.

Tasks will include carrying out psychological assessment and interventions (individual and group) under the supervision of a qualified clinical psychologist, assisting in clinically related administration, conducting audits and collection of statistics related to departmental research projects, training and project work. The post will require liaison and joint working with multidisciplinary colleagues and agencies. The role is busy, varied and interesting. There are opportunities for MDT working and group work.

You will receive professional and clinical supervision from senior clinical psychology colleagues, and there is lots of peer support and development opportunities. Our department has close links with the North West DClin training courses and regularly provides training placements.
