Apprentice Healthcare Assistant

This is an ideal opportunity to learn within the work place; you will be supported by a tutor to gain a Health & Social Care Level 2 or Lead Healthcare level 3 qualification and if you have not already achieved Maths and English, we will include Functional Skills Level 2 qualifications.
You will be appointed under Annex 21 agenda for change terms and conditions
This position is based in Macclesfield clinic.
Main duties of the job
We are looking for Health Care Assistants to join our sexual health service.
You will be required to develop working relationships with colleagues across the service and throughout the wider Trust.
We work in a fast moving environment that will require you to have a flexible approach to meet competing demands. If you enjoy being busy and making a positive contribution in the workplace then we have a role that is ideal for you.
The successful candidate will demonstrate that you can uphold the values and behaviours of the Trust.

Job responsibilities
1. To provide an efficient and safe environment for clients and staff, reporting any potential safety issues to an appropriate team member and making suggestions for service improvement, according to Trust and service policies and procedures2. To maintain high standards of infection control procedures according to Trust and service policies3. To maintain client confidentiality at all times according to Trust and service policies4. To act as a chaperone taking into account cultural and religious beliefs, as directed by clinical staff, whilst promoting a positive image of the service5. Prioritise own workload and organise own work on a daily basis to ensure the smooth running of the service6. Identify, report (and contribute to recording) to appropriate team member any Child Protection and Vulnerable adult issues observed during duties, according to legislation & Trust policy7. Assist at clinical procedures as appropriate
8. Obtaining specimens from patients for laboratory testing.
