Job summary
An exciting opportunity has arisen to join the community X-ray team at York Centre, Smithdown Road and South Liverpool Treatment centre as Band 7 principal Radiographer .
The successful candidate will be expected, provide clinical expertise in plain film imaging as a support for community Radiographers, Assistant Practitioners and student Radiographers. You will also act as an immediate line manager, produce weekly rotas, investigate incidents, assist with annual leave requests amongst other tasks required.
Main duties of the job
The post holder will be responsible for management, co-ordination anddelivery of high quality radiographic services.
Key responsibilities include:
- To work autonomously to plan, organise, coordinate and manageradiographic services, implementing and adjusting strategies when and where appropriate.
- Remain an active member of the clinical radiography team, carrying out the full range of radiographic duties to the standard required.
- Undertake Continued Professional Development (CPD) to maintain the specialist knowledge and competencies required as both a unit manager and a clinical radiographer. Identify own training and development needs through the appraisal process.
- Arrange and monitor preventative maintenance and breakdowns for all equipment associated with the service and, in the event of equipment breakdown, initiate corrective or remedial action whilst maintaining service provision whenever possible.
- Develop and deliver induction and orientation of new staff, providementorship and leadership of all staff on a daily basis.
- Liaise with the Radiation Protection Supervisor (RPS), health and safety representative, other Lead Radiographers to ensure a safe environment for all staff and patients
