Job summary

Acute Cardiac Care Unit

X1 Permanent Band 3 Post 34.5. Hours per week (including days/nights/weekends/bank holidays)

An exciting opportunity has arisen on ACCU for a permanent Band 3 post.

ACCU is a fast paced, 14 bed cardiac monitored unit, caring for a variety of stable and unstable cardiac patients and high dependency patients.

The successful application will be enthusiastic and hard working. They should have excellent communication skills and be able to work as part of a team. They will be expected to assist the nursing staff in their duties to deliver excellent care to our patients including blood sugar monitoring, observations, venepuncture and cannulation.They are also required to display the Trust values and behaviours to a high standard

Main duties of the job

We are looking for a caring and compassionate individual who delivers exceptional patient care.

As a healthcare on ACCU you will be expected to ensure that all the basic needs of the patients are met. This includes washing, dressing, toileting, assisting with feeding and ensuring their comfort at all times. You will be expected to ensure the safety of the patients by repositioning and reducing the risk of falls on the ward. It is essential that you have a good bed side manner and have excellent communication skills so that you can communicate effectively with patients, relatives and other staff members.

As a band 3 healthcare you will be expected to work closely with the nursing staff assisting in simple dressings, observation and blood sugar monitoring, venepuncture, cannulation and catheterisation once the appropriate training has been given.
