Adult / Paediatric Interventional Radiologist Consultant
The Liverpool University NHS Foundation Trust (LUHFT) was created in 2019, after the successful merger of the Royal Liverpool and Aintree Hospitals. Liverpool University Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust wishes to appoint 1 Consultant Interventional Radiologist to work within LUHFT and also within our local paediatric Hospital, Alder Hey Children's Hospital.
This is a new working collaboration with Alder Hey Children's Hospital. The post will be full-time 10 PAs and will be joint at LUHFT on the Aintree site and Alder Hey Children's Hospital. This is an equally split role of adult and paediatric Interventional procedures.
Main duties of the job
The post holder will be required to support all aspects of Interventional Radiology for which they are suitably trained and participate with the on call service provided at the Aintree University Hospital site. There is currently no requirement to participate with the on call service at Alder Hey children's Hospital.
The post holder will also be required to support the training of junior colleagues in both paediatric and adult procedures.

Qualifications
Essential
- MB ChB (or equivalent)
- MBBS (or equivalent)
- Full registration with the GMC and licence to practise (or eligible for)
- Eligible for specialist register in Radiology
Clinical experience
Essential
- CCT in Radiology (or equivalent training) or within 6 months of attaining one at time of interview
- Subspecialty training in Cross Sectional Radiology
- Evidence of continuing medical education
Teaching & training experience
Desirable
- Experience of teaching to medical and nursing staff and other disciplines
Clinical Governance experience
Essential
- Understanding NHS management structures and the principles of Clinical Governance.
- Ability to take full and independent responsibility for clinical care of patients
Management experience

- Willingness to participate in management activities
- Understanding of financial arrangements in the NHS
