Job summary

We have an exciting opportunity for a static Team Leader in one of our MSK treatment hubs - Burlington House (L22). The job plan is 70% clinical and 30% SPA. This non clinical time is to ensure the smooth running of the service by providing clinical and operational leadership to a team of Physiotherapists, as well as protected time for personal and service development. You will work closely with and be supported by Therapy Managers and other Band 7 colleagues based in similar roles on other sites to ensure consistency and improve quality of care.

You will work within physiotherapy treatment clinics and in our musculoskeletal triage service (MCAS) alongside Consultant Physiotherapists and Advanced Physiotherapy Practitioners. We are committed to continuous service and staff development in line with national initiatives and if successful you will be responsible for delivering this at a local level. All our staff have a named supervisor and regular supervision to promote individual development and to support training needs. We have close links to the local universities and we are striving to increase research opportunities within the team. Staff are required to work flexibly and respond to the changing needs of the service.

Training posts would be considered under Annex 21 AfC terms and conditions.

Main duties of the job

Band 7 staff are integral to staff and service development and must demonstrate compassionate and empowering leadership approach.

You will be required to deliver a high standard of clinical care and be responsible for ensuring robust governance processes and safe systems of work. You will play an active role in supporting the MSK leadership team with departmental improvement projects and ensure Trust HR policies are locally adhered to.

  • B.Sc. in Physiotherapy or Grad. Diploma in Physiotherapy
  • Current registration with Health professions Council
  • Documented evidence of CPD

Desirable

  • Attended clinical supervisor's course
  • Relevant introductory courses in management skills.

Experience

Essential

  • Extensive experience at Band 6 level in all musculoskeletal areas including outpatients, orthopaedic inpatients, rheumatology, acute trauma
  • Experience in supervision and training of qualified staff, assistants and students
  • Substantial clinical experience in the NHS UK or Health Service.

  • Involvement in audit and / or research
