Job summary

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a full time Band 5 Project coordinator to join our team at the Mersey School of Endoscopy (MSE) training centre at the Royal Liverpool Hospital.

The Mersey School of Endoscopy is a National Endoscopy Training Centre. The MSE was successful in its bid to become the lead Training Centre for the newly formed Northwest Endoscopy Academy. The development of regional Training Academies has been part of a national strategy to support the development of the endoscopy workforce and has been delivered through the Health Education England (HEE) National Cancer and Diagnostics programme.

The project coordinator will be lead on developing, planning and implementing the regional Endoscopy program of the MSE in its role as hub centre for the North West Endoscopy Academy.

The project coordinator will be responsible to the Project Manager and the Training Academy leadership team and work flexibly across all Academy sites.

Main duties of the job

  • Work closely with and provide project support to the Project Manager and MSE Director within agreed timescales, mitigating risk and issues along the way.
  • Provide high quality project coordination skills to the team, using Microsoft applications as required to create, track and maintain project documentation and keep communication levels high to all involved parties.
  • Work with the clinicians (doctors and nurses) in the Endoscopy Academy.
  • Work flexible whilst projects are running.

    • You will be working in a busy project environment, providing a reliable and confident servicefor the Academy and Clinical services undertaking projects, ensuring your work is accurate, on time and clearly communicated.
    • Work closely with the wider MSE Team and Spoke Centre personnel to ensure the effective delivery of the Projects
    • Engage with senior stakeholders including clinical teams, ALBs, HEIs, professional bodies and NHS Trusts
    • Deputise in senior regional stakeholder meetings, briefings, conferences, workshops and other forums as appropriate
    • Work in partnership with the MSE Advanced Courses Clinical Lead and project manager to assist with:
    • Engaging with hospitals nationally to ensure that the MSE is delivering courses and training lists in full partnership with providers
    • Engage with medical, nursing and management leaders to ensure that the MSE is successfully supporting the development of the Endoscopy workforce
    • Ensure that best practice for training is developed and delivered
    • Capturing metrics to monitor training activity and quality across the MSE
