Main duties of the job

The service carries out primary reporting of haematological malignancies in line with NICE-IOG 2016 guidance as well as the WHO Classification, including all modalities of testing on liquid and solid samples. The unit is also involved in innovation and research both internally and external (including industrial) partners.

Job duties

This is a dynamic service and is at the cutting edge of science in the specialty. You will be supported by a well-established, experienced, collegiate and friendly specialist reporting team. For a first-time specialty doctor, support to develop skills in specialist haematopathology will be provided by the team for a period of 6-8 months.

The appointees, in collaboration with the other Consultants will be expected to fulfil the duties detailed in Job description which can be found in our job pack, attached in the supporting documents. The ability to work as part of a team in a collegiate manner is a key requirement.

We advocate lean principles and have a successful and efficient system of working including a degree of flexible working within the limitations of the service.
