Job summary

We are looking for proactive clinical pharmacists to join our expanding dynamic and friendly pharmacy team.

Working in a large teaching hospital like LUHFT will provide you with a range of experiences and challenges that will enable you to be an excellent clinical pharmacist.

The rotations are in many exciting areas including; Respiratory, Ophthalmology, Clinical trials, Medication Safety, Haematology, Medicines Information, Emergency floor and Cardiology.

We are looking for motivated clinical pharmacists to join our established clinical team to provide excellent pharmaceutical care to our patients.

The rotational specialist pharmacist role will involve rotating through a range of different areas/ specialties, all supported by a team Advanced Clinical Pharmacists.

The job will help expand on your initial training.

Main duties of the job

We have a fully integrated electronic prescribing system along with unique in-house systems to help you deliver excellent clinical care to your patients. There are dedicated rotations which include a variety of therapeutic areas designed to enhance involvement with directorate working; examples include: Respiratory, Ophthalmology, Clinical trials, Medication Safety, Haematology, Medicines Information, Emergency floor and Cardiology.

You will be supported by a well-established team of Advanced Clinical Pharmacists giving you an ideal opportunity to gain further clinical skills and experience post diploma. Applicants must be pharmacists registered with the General Pharmaceutical Council and have a postgraduate clinical diploma or equivalent experiential learning. They should be self-motivated, organised, have excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

  • Vocational Masters Degree in Pharmacy or equivalent
  • Pre-registration training and experience, meeting the GPhC examination requirements
  • Member of the General Pharmaceutical Council
  • Postgraduate Certificate in Clinical Pharmacy and/or equivalent

Desirable

  • Non-medical Prescribing Qualification

Experience

  • Experience as a qualified pharmacist within a range of clinical areas / demonstrable evidence of undertaking a role at rotational grade pharmacist leveL
  • Evidence of relevant and on-going personal CPD

Desirable

  • Experience in delivering pharmacy services to a specialist area
  • Published pharmaceutical research in a peer-reviewed journal
  • Acute/ tertiary Hospital experience
