An exciting opportunity has arisen for compassionate, well-motivated Band 4 Therapy Assistant Practitioner Apprentices to join the Therapies team across Liverpool University Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust.
Positions are available in the following areas:
Acute Intervention - Royal
Respiratory - Royal
DMOPS - Aintree
Acute Inpatient Team, General Medicine - Aintree
Trauma and Orthopaedics - Aintree
We are looking for individuals who have experience of working within an NHS setting, ideally within therapies, who are keen to progress into a Band 4 role via the Trust supported apprenticeship scheme with Hugh Baird College. The scheme will run for approximately 24 months with one day a week attendance at college, which will be Monday or Tuesday. The remaining days will be spent working with the therapy team developing Band 4 competencies and supporting clinical work.
All posts are subject to 7-day shift working pattern.
To be eligible to apply:
- Qualifications in English and Maths equivalent to GCSE levels A to C or Functional Skills Level 2
- NVQ 3 / Diploma 3 in Health/Social care or portfolio of evidence which demonstrates the learner is prepared for learning at level 4
To enrol at Hugh Baird College you must be in possession of your original certificates.
Informal visits are welcomed.
Main duties of the job
To undertake specific skilled support work independently, as identified by qualified therapy staff.
To accept patients referred by a therapist and carry own caseload.
To treat patients according to set treatment protocols, monitoring patient progression, make minor alterations to patient treatment programmes as required.
Work independently within the multidisciplinary team setting, reporting back patient progress and informing therapists of any problems
