Job summary
Applications are invited from highly motivated individuals for a Medical Laboratory Assistant post in the specimen reception at Royal Liverpool Hospital.The department provides a wide range of analytical, diagnostic and interpretative service to hospitals, clinics and GP practices. The appointee will be required to undertake basic laboratory tasks which include specimen reception, keyboard entry of data into the laboratory management system and housekeeping.
Main duties of the job
We are looking to recruit a motivated and reliable Medical Laboratory Assistant (MLA) Band 3, with good communication skills, to work as part of a team in the Central Specimen Reception. The main duties will include the receipt and pre analytical processing of patient specimens.We provide a full 24/7 service supported by a shift system (Agenda for Change Terms and Conditions apply) including weekends and Bank Holidays. Participation in the shift rota following suitable training and competency assessment is mandatory to work in Blood Sciences.
Previous laboratory and/or Specimen Reception experience would be an advantage.We're passionate about what we do and we'll look for you to match our values.
