Job summary
We are looking to recruit a Band 4 Software Technician post into our stroke therapy team. This post will work across our stroke pathway and will primarily involve supporting patients to access a range of computer based therapy and state of the art electronic therapy devices to maximise their ability to independently access therapy at home.
We are looking for someone who is confident with new technology to digitally enable others. The person must be passionate about providing the best care for our patients; be able to learn and teach others how to use technology, and to collect data . You will work closely with the therapy MDT.
The ideal candidate will have experience of working with physiotherapy, occupational therapy or speech and language therapy in a rehabilitation environment and be a confident and competent user of computer based technology. You will have good computer literacy skills to problem solve technology issues and maintenance of equipment. You will ideally have experience of working with people with stroke or acquired brain injury to facilitate their recovery.
As you are expected to work across the stroke pathway, access to a vehicle with suitable level of business insurance to enable travel across our hospital sites and outreach to patients homes is essential for this post.
Main duties of the job
o To work closely with the therapy MDT to identify suitable patients and lead on the introduction of rehabilitation technologies across the stroke pathway.
o Independent management of own caseload and workload
o To work closely with patients and relatives to introduce technology based rehabilitation packages across the stroke pathway.
