Job summary
The role of the Deputy Ward Manager is to lead by example and be a role model for the nursing team. We are looking for an individual who is able to support junior staff in their professional development, through excellent and effective clinical leadership, mentoring, teaching and sharing of knowledge and practice.
The role will involve driving and maintaining quality standards.
You will be responsible for supporting the ward manager with oversight of day to day running of the ward, staffing, training, maintaining patient safety and standards.
You will be responsible for coordination of the ward on a day to day basis and the flow of patients. Admission of pre op TCI's and coordinating the management of these patients post operatively.
Main duties of the job
This is a very exciting opportunity to support the Ward Manager on this busy Urology surgical ward at Liverpool University Hospitals. The post holder will be responsible with the Ward Manager for the organisation and management of the urology ward 5B in conjunction with the Matron. They will be expected to support the provision of excellent nursing care and to work collaboratively with the multidisciplinary team.

The successful candidate will be able to demonstrate excellent communication skills, team working skills and be dedicated to improving patient experience
