Job summary

An exciting opportunity has risen for a full-time Band 3 HCA in our Private Patient Outpatients Department. Our unit provides multi-speciality consultation / diagnostic / phlebotomy services in addition to X-ray, ultrasound and physiotherapy services. We also undertake a number of on-site minor operations / procedures. We have an in-patient unit (The Sefton Suite Ward / theatres) within the main grounds of Aintree Hospital and provide pre and post op care for our private patients who are admitted there for surgery. Due to the wide and varied nature of the role there is scope to develop and learn new skills for the right candidate.

Main duties of the job

The main role of the post-holder will be to support the nursing team in the smooth running of the outpatient clinics. The post requires excellent IT and technical skills in addition to a willing and flexible approach. The post-holder will be required to assist in all aspects of the outpatient clinics and be present during particular consultations / outpatient procedures etc. Previous experience in phlebotomy would be particularly advantageous due to increase in demand for this service. There may be an occasional requirement to support the ward due to staffing issues / ad hoc clinics taking place there, therefore previous surgical experience would also be advantageous

About us

We are a small, friendly team who pride ourselves on delivering the highest standard of care to all of our patients. We are welcoming to all new staff and provide a supportive environment in which to learn. Our unit is based on 3 levels with X-ray, Radiology and Maintenance in the basement, Outpatients / reception on the ground floor and Admin offices on the first floor. We have many patients returning to us on a regular basis as they acknowledge the professional, calm environment and the knowledge and expertise of staff and consultants.
