To provide a comprehensive sexual health service, to the local population. Taking responsibility for the day to day management of clinics whilst ensuring a quality service is delivered providing high standards of patient care.
An ANNEXE 21 post will be considered if further training required.

Main duties of the job
As an autonomous practitioner undertake independent consultations with clients, including assessing, monitoring and evaluating individual client's contraceptive and sexual health needs including referral to other Health Professionals as required
Issue methods of contraception according to Patient Group Directions & clinical protocols.
Provide STI screening and treatment according to Patient Group Directions & clinical protocols. Encouraging partners attendance and treatment when necessary.
Provide advice and cytology screening as appropriate, according to local policies.
To take responsibility of the smooth running of the day to day management of the Integrated sexual health service.
Undertaking the Trust appraisal/ Personal Development Review process.To work within the community and hospital settings.

Essential
- First level registered nurse
- Contraception and Reproductive Health certificate (ENB 901/R71 or equivalent post-registration Diploma/degree level module)
- Ability to be a Clinical Mentor (ENB 998/997 or equivalent post-registration degree level module) following appropriate training
- Achieved or currently studying for Degree (health related) or equivalent experience
Desirable
- Sexually transmitted infection foundation course (STIF) or equivalent experience
- HIV and AIDS related conditions (ENB 934 or equivalent)
- Care and provision for HIV/AIDS (ENB 280 or equivalent)
- NVQ Trainer
- Counselling skills

- Significant post-registration clinical experience within Sexual Health field (or equivalent experience)
- Recent clinical experience within Sexual Health/Contraception field (or equivalent)
