Ward Clerk ward 8 BGHThis role involves working within a busy stroke transitional unit department at Broadgreen hospital
The principal duty of the ward clerk is to provide an efficient clerical service to the ward and the ward Manager.
Main duties of the job
Candidates would ideally have previous experience, working in an administrative environment, preferably in the NHS, and be able to demonstrate good customer care skills. Candidates will also need to have excellent communication, planning and interpersonal skills, as the role involves working with different disciplines, and requires an organised and systematic approach to tasksCandidates must be computer literate.If you would like the challenge of working in a very busy environment, then we would like to hear from you.

Receive and book in patients on arrival to the ward dashboard
Make appointments as requested. Liaise with medical staff re clinics.
Deal with telephone and postal enquiries.
Ensure clinic booking summaries and clinic proformas are completed timely and accurately.
Open, sort and re-direct mail.
Make up and file new case notes.
Liaise with Clerical Team Co-ordinator re missing case notes.
Maintain and enhance an efficient and helpful attitude whilst undertaking the above duties.
Ensure all patient discharges are recorded timely and accurately.
To undertake any other duties appropriate to the grade as delegated by the Clerical & Administration Manager/Clerical Supervisor.
Book ambulances for patient transfers
Referrals to district nurses
