As an Assistant Domestic Manager you will work within the domestic services department, managing a very large team including supervisors and domestic assistants.
You will monitor cleaning standards, ensuring adherence to infection control policies and procedures as well as health and safety polices. You will also be responsible for conducting mandatory training.
The post is 31.5 hours, working morning and afternoon shifts. Also weekends as cover when required to cover sick and absence.
Main duties of the job
Liverpool University Hospitals are seeking to recruit an Assistant Domestic Manager for their Aintree site.
As the Assistant Domestic Manager you will be responsible for managing the afternoon and weekend domestic service to ensure that cleaning is delivered to the Trust required standards
You will manage a supervisory team and have daily contact with key stakeholders such as infection control and ward managers.
Cleaning Management experience is an essential element for this role and experience within an healthcare environment would be beneficial.

Job responsibilities
- To allocate tasks and responsibilities to the domestic supervisory team and take the necessary steps to ensure the specified service is provided.
- To liaise daily with Ward Managers and be proactive in resolving difficulties in order to build and maintain good working relationships.
- Attend meetings as requested with Control of Infection, Matrons and Sitemanagement as required to assist in effective communications with both managers and service users.
- Carry out regular Supervisor 1-1 meetings to assist in effective two-waycommunication and to communicate the Trusts aims and objectives to Supervisors to then cascade to Domestic staff
- Control staffing worked hours, organising workloads fairly and ensuring that labour hours are kept within the master rota.
- Ensure Health and Safety compliance including conducting investigations into any accidents and the development and documentation of Risk Assessments.
- To ensure that all machinery is safely maintained via the completion of an annual portable appliance test
- Development of local work schedules highlighting and monitoring general working practices and providing comprehensive and easily understood written instructions.
- To assist the Domestic services manager with the day to day management of external contracts
- To be flexible in their working hours as so to carry out duties to sustain operational demands
- To ensure that all staff mandatory training is completed as per the required compliance
- To ensure that all areas are appropriately staffed in accordance with the master rota to ensure the required level of service is delivered
- At the direction of the Domestic services manager to undertake a range of projects involving multidisciplinary teams to critically evaluate new methods of working and initiatives directed by the Trust
- Any other reasonable request as may be required.
