Job summary

This is a substantive full-time Consultant Radiologist post based at Liverpool University Hospitals Foundation Trust. This post is a cross site position encompassing our two hospitals in the Trust; Aintree Hospital and Royal Liverpool Hospital. The post will predominantly be based at Aintree Hospital due to the location of stroke services at Aintree. The appointment offers an exciting opportunity to join an established team consisting of General and Specialist Radiologists from a variety of specialities. Aintree Hospital is to be the home of the hyper acute stroke unit (HASU) and will be the regional specialist centre. The Walton Centre is adjacent to Aintree Hospital and offers treatments such as 24/7 thrombectomy. The post holder will be expected to work closely with and participate in the stroke and carotid MDTs. The post holder will support the carotid doppler service. and will also have opportunities to report general acute and outpatient cross sectional imaging. Aintree site and the Walton Centre for Neurology and Neurosurgery are the main providers for the highly reputed Major Trauma Centre. The post holder will gain experience in trauma imaging.

To provide Radiological expertise in terms of advice for imaging and reporting.

To take part in the Radiology Audit, Governance, Consultant and Departmental Meetings.

To prepare for and lead on discussions in appropriate MDT's including stroke and carotid MDT's.

To participate on the Diagnostic on call Consultant Radiology rota.

To support the Carotid Doppler service

Teaching

Colleagues including Radiology Registrars and Radiographers

Undergraduate Medical and Dental students as part of their curriculum.

Trainee nurses, physicists, and pharmacists when opportunities arise.
