Are you an experienced Theatre Practitioner looking for new and exciting opportunities? Do you enjoy the challenges of working in a dynamic patient care environment? Then come and join our Broadgreen Site Theatre Team.

We are looking to recruit a experienced Senior Theatre Practitioner with a passion and drive to work within Broadgreen Hospital Theatres. You will act as a clinical role model and demonstrate extensive knowledge within orthopaedic, breast and general surgery specialities. You will possess great communication and teaching skills, helping to improve practitioner's practice whilst supporting the whole team and working closely with the team leaders.

Main duties of the job

We are looking to recruit experienced Senior Theatre Practitioners with a passion and drive to work within Broadgreen Hospital Theatres. You will act as a clinical role model and demonstrate extensive knowledge within the speciality. You will possess great communication and teaching skills, helping to improve practitioner's practice whilst supporting the whole team and working closely with the team leaders.

Broadgreen Hospital site has 8 operating theatres which cover a wide variety of surgical specialties, including orthopaedics, breast and general surgery.

  • Registered Nurse, current NMC registration
  • Qualification relevant to specialist area (Diploma/Degree in Specialized Theatre Practice,ENB 182/176,HEA605)or equivalent course
  • Mentorship course or Teaching and Assessing course (ENB 998,C&G756,Mentorship in Practice,D32/D33,)

Desirable

  • ILS/ALS

Experience

Essential

  • A demonstrable post registration experience in relevant theatre area ,of which at least one year should be at a supervisory level
  • Responsibility for running clinical areas on a shift/daily basis
  • No unaccountable career breaks
  • Evidence of mentorship within specialist field and appraisals as appropriate
  • Evidence of active participation in development of unit guidelines/initiatives

Desirable

  • Management course /training
  • Understanding of Trust Policy and Practice
  • Policy and procedure writing skills
  • Principles of budget management

Knowledge

Essential

  • Understanding and knowledge relating to political and professional issues
  • Evidence of expert knowledge in one area of practice
