Job summary
We wish to recruit a highly skilled clinician, on a 12 month fixed term basis, who has a clear understanding of the developing role of the physiotherapist in the acute setting; delivering innovative, responsive services to meet both the needs of patients and the organisation. This role requires excellent communication skills and the ability to work as an effective member of the wider team as well as with other external agencies. The post holder will have significant experience working with adults with complex presentations, particularly those with multiple co-morbidities. The post holder will also have the exciting opportunity to participate in a research funded project as part of a pilot Randomised Control Trial of new diagnostic approaches to patients suspected of having Hospital Acquired Pneumonia (HAP).
Main duties of the job
This role demands extensive post graduate knowledge and experience, therefore the post holder must be highly competent in the triage, assessment and management of a wide range of acute medical conditions and presentations.
This is a varied and challenging role and as such strong leadership skills are essential, requiring someone with initiative, a great team ethic, self-awareness, flexible thinking and problem solving skills. The successful candidate must be committed and enthusiastic in providing high standard patient care.
The successful candidates must be able to work flexibly to meet service demands over a seven day service.
