Job summary

Liverpool University Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust wishes to appoint an ENT Junior Clinical Fellow (at Core Trainee level).

The successful applicant will be required for a 6-month fixed term contract to start in August 2022. They will participate in a 1:7 emergency partial shift on-call rota at Core Trainee level covering adult ENT emergencies at Aintree University Hospital.

Applicants are required to hold the membership of a Royal College of Surgeons (UK) or recognised national equivalent qualifications and be fully registered with the General Medical Council. Applicants should have clinical experience of Otolaryngology / Head & Neck Surgery, as well as experience at Core Surgical Training level.

Main duties of the job

The successful candidate will participate in an ENT specific 1:7 emergency on-call partial shift rota at Core Trainee level. This rota is shared with the specialist ENT advanced nurse practitioners and the CT1 trainee. Although the unit accepts referrals from 3 neighbouring DGH trusts, there is no cross site cover with all admissions being admitted centrally to Aintree; emergencies may be received from Southport, Ormskirk & Whiston Hospitals.

On site provision of emergency care is also occasionally required at the Walton Centre for Neurology and Neurosurgery which is also on the Aintree site and attached to Aintree hospital.
