Job summary
Are you a dynamic and forward thinking Physiotherapist looking for a new challenge in stroke services?
We are looking for a band 7 Physiotherapist to work as part of an integrated specialist MDT for stroke services at Liverpool University Hospital Stroke Team.
You will have expert knowledge and skills in the assessment and treatment of Stroke patients along the Stroke pathway. This will predominantly include hyper acute care, neuro-respiratory skills, sub-acute management, and in-patient rehabilitation. You will have an in-depth knowledge of MDT working and work alongside other MDT members in the development of stroke therapy services. You will have a good working knowledge of SSNAP and be able to support the achievement of SSNAP targets.
Based on the Aintree Site, you will be expected to work across the whole stroke pathway including future cross site working as part of local and regional stroke pathway transformation.
You will be supported by experienced stroke specialist Physiotherapists and MDT team leads across the pathway. You will have access to regular supervision
Main duties of the job
As a stroke team lead, you will have excellent interpersonal, team working and communication skills. You must be open to change and proactive in service improvement and transformation.
You will be responsible for physiotherapy assessment, clinical diagnose and implementation of agreed treatment plans and evaluate care delivery needs for routine and complex patients.
You will work closely with other band 7 MDT stroke team leads to be responsible for the day to day operational and caseload management of the stroke unit. You will participate in supervising and training band 5 and 6 Physiotherapists, MDT members, students and therapy assistants across the pathway. As the stroke unit works closely with the Early Supported discharge team, you would also be expected to provide clinical and leadership support across the entire stroke pathway as required.
You must be able to work effectively on your own and as part of a team. You should be motivated towards service development and improvement and keen to learn new skills. You would be expected to work flexibly across a seven day service and extended shift patterns.
This is a full time post, part time hours will not be considered.
